VOLUMA Clip In Care Guide

VOLUMA Clip in Care Guide

Looking after your human hair extensions is very important in order to increase the life of your new investment. Your extensions need attention as they are going through the same conditions as your hair (air conditioning, fumes, sun etc) without the same oils and nutrients from your skin to combat the negative effects the environment.

Washing your hair extensions

Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles from your human hair extensions.  Use our So PURE Shampoo and Conditioner only, they have been designed to work with our hair.

Run the hair extensions under warm (not hot) water. Gently work the shampoo into the hair, mix into your shampoo some conditioner (about half and half), stroking downwards from the weft base (top) to the ends. Do not twist, scrub or rub the hair.
When clean, rinse thoroughly under warm running water until the water runs clear.  Be sure to rinse until all shampoo is removed.

Gently work Conditioner into the hair extensions and leave for fifteen minutes. Rinse conditioner out.

Lay your hair extensions on a towel to dry or blow dry on a low heat setting.

Your human hair clip-in extensions will not require washing as often as your own hair, wash only when they start to look dull, lifeless or frizzy. The less your clip in hair extensions are washed the longer they will last.

Never use anti-dandruff products on your human hair extensions.

Brushing your hair extensions

Hold your hair extensions tightly around the top and brush knots out with Marquesa Hair brushes, they have been design to detangle hair extensions.  Always start brushing knots out from the bottom of hair working your way up. Always brush your human hair extensions gently using a hair extension loop brush or soft bristle brush.  A hair extension loop brush is designed to stop any damage or breakage when you are brushing your hair, keeping it tangle free.

Never use a hard bristle brush as this will cause breakage in the hair extensions. Do not brush your hair extensions when wet.

Drying your hair extensions

Gently brush your human hair extensions while they are wet.  Use a warm or cool heat setting on your dryer. Always use a heat protector when using any heat on your hair extensions.

Curling or Straightening Irons

Always use a heat protector, and use on lowest heat setting when using heat on your hair extensions.  We recommend using a serum after straightening your hair extensions.  Note: leaving irons on the hair too long will scorch your hair extensions.

Tip:  Always make sure your irons are clean, otherwise you are ironing dirt build up, into your human hair extensions.

Colouring/dyeing and perming human hair extensions is not recommended.

Storing your clip in extensions

Store your clip in human hair extensions with the clips closed.
Do not sleep with your clip in hair extensions in your hair.

Using So Pure Oil  is also very good for the hair extensions.  With oils you must always use them as per the manufactures instructions, apply only a few drops to damp hair and comb through.
It is important to use Certified Argan Oil products as they don’t have manufactured silicones in them.  Certified Argan Oil products are 100% Natural and Organic.  They do make your hair feel beautiful.  They also provide shine to your hair, are humidity resistant, and speeds up the drying time of your hair up to 50%.

Important Tips for Hair Extensions

Remember for healthy hair your hair needs 4 balances – Protein, Natural Oils (Argan Oil is one of these), PH Balance and Moisture, this is no different for your human hair extensions.
Always use heat protector when applying heat to your hair extensions, i.e blow dryer, straighteners, curling irons, rollers etc.

Always tie your hair up before swimming or engaging in sports. Chlorine or sea water will affect the hair as it does your natural hair so it is important to shampoo and condition as directed immediately after such activities.  Products containing Sulphurous substances (e. g thermal baths) will affect the hair and therefore it is recommended to tie your hair up.  It is best to take clip in hair extensions out before swimming or to thoroughly wet your hair, as when your hair is wet, the hair shaft is swollen and will not absorb as much chlorine or salts and sulphurous substances.

Finishing products

DO NOT use products containing any alcohol. When using waxes, gels, serums or oils avoid contact with the tape, use on mid lengths to ends.  Enjoy your new Marquesa Hair Extensions.

Pay careful attention to the care and styling instructions that come with your hair extensions. Cheaper clip-on pieces are likely synthetic, and heat from curling irons and excessive blow-drying may damage the hair.

Although the extension hair is real, it is not receiving nutrients from the scalp like your own hair. Heat is your hair extensions biggest enemy. The more you use on it, the shorter the life span of your hair. We cannot guarantee that the hair will remain silky if you use the blow dry, flat iron, or curling iron.

When you sleep, we highly recommend that you braid, wrap or ponytail your hair together to prevent tangling. This will save time that would be spent untangling the hair the next morning.

When washing the hair, always wash it going in a downward motion. Use your fingers in a horizontal motion between wefts to clean your scalp. When rinsing, do the same to be sure that all the shampoo and conditioner residues are washed out.

If you perm, tint, bleach or cellophane the hair, you do it at your own risk. We do not guarantee any hair that has been chemically altered.
